London Meetings for January to April 2024

Following the success of the London meetings during 2023, a decision has been made to continue these meetings into 2024.
The following are details of the January meeting and the scheduled dates and themes for the remainder of the months to April 2024.
It has not been possible to secure the venue for the usual 2nd Saturday of the month for
January 2024.

Saturday 6th January. Host: Mike Hillyard

IMPORTANT: note the changed date – a week earlier than originally planned.
Theme: “All Creatures Great and Small”
Come along and enjoy Audio-Visual shows prepared by members in response to this brief:
“All creatures great and small” where “creatures” here was originally meant in the biblical context (from Ant to Elephant) but it’s fine to interpret it in the plant world as well (so Fauna & Flora). “Creatures” could also be seen to include things made by man – so could include small or large inanimate objects. So, please feel free to interpret the theme as broadly as you wish.
Indeed, we have received A-V shows which cover all of these possibilities – some
spectacular wild-life shows and also some with original and amusing interpretations of the brief, so come along for an enjoyable afternoon of 3D entertainment.

Saturday 10th February – My Other Hobby

At this meeting we will be projecting a programme of shows on the theme: “My other hobby”. These were originally shared via Zoom back in January 2022, but have never been projected on a big screen.

As you’d expect with a lot of creative people with disparate interests, there are a whole range of hobbies represented, from electronics and mechanical engineering,  wildlife, drone flying, diorama modelling, furniture construction, church architecture, trainspotting, mono-cycling  and jig-saws to name but a few!

So come along and enjoy a full afternoon of high quality 3D projection!

We look forward to seeing you all!

Saturday 9th March – Show & Tell

This will now be a Show & Tell only meeting.
The Show & Tell will be hosted by Bob Aldridge.

Members are invited to bring along and describe their speciality, project or an area of stereoscopy to the meeting.

A popular topic that is well attended and often leads to members providing an insight into aspects of stereoscopy, or is a source of inspiration in helping members’ find a potential solution or insight for their own projects.

Please bring your Show & Tell item(s) along on the day and see recent newsletter
how to message the organiser; send a message with ‘Show and Tell’ followed by your subject in the title of the email.
Please send this no-later than Thursday 7th March 2024.
You will be allotted a reasonable amount of time to describe your project/ item.

Saturday 13th April – Annual Exhibition

Showing of the entries and results of our annual competition.

We will also continue to meet Virtually – Online on a weekly basis as we began doing through out the Pandemic, presenting 3D images and 3D Videos and discussing anything 3D related.

Some stereo supplies are usually available.
